Frequently Asked Questions
Q. The Liquid Fence® Deer & Rabbit Repellent label says to apply the product to dry vegetation. I am not sure what that means. We are expecting rain in a few hours. Is it okay to apply it now?

A. You must apply it to dry vegetation or else the product will become diluted and not work as well or perhaps not at all. If you’re expecting rain soon, you must allow the treatment area enough time to dry so the product fully adheres to the plants. Someone using the product in Florida during the summer will have to wait less time for the liquid to dry than someone in New York in the fall.

Q. Can I use Liquid Fence® Deer & Rabbit Repellent in the winter?

A. It can be used all year long with a few exceptions. The product must be applied when temperatures are above freezing or the liquid will crystallize and not adhere to the plants. Also, avoid applying when there’s snow on the ground; snow can dilute the product, rendering it less effective.

Q. I see you have both liquid and granular formulations of Liquid Fence® Deer & Rabbit Repellent. I am not sure which one to use on my garden.

A. The liquid spray can be used on all garden areas: lawns, flowers, shrubs, ornamental plants, trees and/or vines regardless of their height. The granular formula is only to be used on low-lying vegetation such as lawns, pansies, ivy, etc., that is less than 24 inches in height.

Q. I believe my Liquid Fence® Deer & Rabbit Repellent froze over the winter but I am not positive. How can I tell if it will still work?

A. We suggest that you shake the bottle vigorously (do this outdoors, wearing gloves and protective clothing in case the bottle leaks). Open the bottle to see if the product looks the same as it did when you last used it and has that very strong, pungent odor that you are used to smelling. If it looks and smells the same as before you stored it away, then it should work.

Q. It is supposed to rain later on today and I was planning to apply Liquid Fence®Deer & Rabbit Repellent. Will I have to reapply it again tomorrow?

A. You need to allow enough time for the product to dry in order for it to adhere to the vegetation. Drying time depends on your location and the time of year. In general, we suggest you give the product 5 to 6 hours to dry. Liquid Fence Deer & Rabbit Repellent withstands up to one inch of rain per week and only needs to be applied once per month. If you experience more than 4 inches of rain/watering in less than 4 weeks, you will need to reapply the product. Make sure all vegetation is dry before reapplying.

Q. It is the end of the season and I need to store my Liquid Fence® Deer & Rabbit Repellent. Are there any special instructions on storage?

A. All Liquid Fence products should be stored indoors between 40 and 90 degrees. This is because our products are biodegradable, and extreme heat or cold can break them down and make them less effective. If the product has been sitting for awhile, shake vigorously outdoors before using. Make sure to wear gloves and protective clothing when shaking in case of leakage.

Q. Can Liquid Fence® Goose Repellent be used to keep geese and ducks out of my swimming pool?

A. No. The product is meant to keep geese, ducks and turkeys off your lawn and other areas in which they are feeding. The application of Liquid Fence Goose Repellent makes the food supply very undesirable. The elimination of the food source will change the feeding habits of these birds and cause them to look for a more desirable feeding location.

Q. Our yard is inundated with rabbits! Do you have anything just for rabbits?

A. Yes! Try our Liquid Fence® Dual Action Rabbit Repellent, which repels using scent like our Deer & Rabbit Repellent but has an added taste deterrent for an effective one-two punch. It works extremely well on lawns frequented by young rabbits whose sense of smell has not fully developed. If the odor doesn’t ward off these pests, the taste will!

Q. May I apply Liquid Fence®Snake Repellent around my pond?

A. Yes, but you must apply far enough away from the water to prevent runoff.

Q. I have a new puppy that has been urinating inside our house. Would your Liquid Fence® Dog & Cat Repellent help to break this bad habit?

A. No. Please do not use this product indoors; it is an odor-based repellent with a very strong scent. Only use this solution outdoors to keep dogs and cats out of your garden, trash and other listed areas.

Q. Can the Liquid Fence® Mole Repellent be used to deter voles?

A. We have not performed any testing on voles, so at this time, we cannot say that it will repel them.
